WHAT IS IT?

Clay and earthenware cooking pots have been used for thousands of years in China, Japan, and India, but the modern-day Kamado Joe grill has only been around for a few decades.
Over time, the clay was replaced with more durable porcelain glazes and ceramics, making them sturdy enough to last almost a lifetime. These grills function a lot like wood-fired ovens because the thick sides can absorb a ton of heat. They also tend to be more efficient with their use of charcoal and cook food more evenly than grills made with plated steel. You can use a Kamado Joe grill to cook steaks and burgers, or transform it into an outdoor oven or smoker. The possibilities are endless!
WHY KAMADO JOE?

The top air vent controls the temperature of the whole grill. The Kamado Joe uses an aluminum upper vent to prevent rusting. It has a smaller valve for airflow and a bigger hole to help the air move.
The Kamado Joe has a mechanism in the hinge that allows it to slowly pop open when you pop the lid up. You wouldn’t have to be too careful about lowering the lid down.
Cleaning that ash is really easy. When you take the ash out of the Kamado Joe, there’s an ash drawer that has to be taken out and put back in. Cleaning out the ash is always a pain in the ash. But things are a bit easier if you have a Joe! It’s a quick, easy way to clean out the grill.
The Kamado Joe features multiple racks, and also comes with a tool for moving around the hot racks.
