The wider Element, with a 40" x 26" view of the fire. Like the 36, it’s self-trimming, so once it’s in the opening the face is finished and there’s nothing extra to buy. Drop it into an existing fireplace opening or a mantel for a traditional hearth look without the cost of running gas. Brick side panels and a log set give it the look of a wood fire, and the small crystal glass media is in the box as well.

Plug it into a standard 120V outlet for up to 5,000 BTU and 1,450W, enough for about 400 square feet. Hardwire it to 240V and it puts out 9,000 BTU and 2,800W for rooms up to 800 square feet. The heat and the flame run separately, so you can have the fire going in July with the heater off. Flame and ember bed brightness adjust, and LED lights in the top of the firebox add a glow in clear, blue, orange or purple, handy as a night light. The full-feature remote in the box runs all of it.
