The recteq E-Series Built-In 1300 slides into your outdoor kitchen like a gas grill head, with a front-loading hopper and a grease catch that slides out the front, so nothing has to be reached from the back once it’s in the counter.
Inside, it’s 1,229 square inches of cooking space across two racks, which recteq puts at about 130 chicken wings or 10 racks of baby back ribs at once. The PID controller holds temperature steady anywhere from 180°F for an overnight smoke up to 700°F for a hard sear, which is hotter than most pellet grills will go. It’s Wi-Fi enabled and runs through the recteq app, so you can set the temperature and watch the cook from inside, and the colour control screen on the panel has push-button start and temperature control when you’re standing at the grill.
It’s stainless steel through and through, built for a Canadian winter outside: stainless firepot, 2 1/4" stainless grates, stainless drip pans and a cast iron heat deflector inside, and a stainless body, hopper, fold-down front shelf and polished bullhorn handles on the outside. The HotFlash ceramic igniter is rated for more than 100,000 lights. The 27 lb hopper holds enough pellets for long cooks, and its lid doubles as a prep and serving surface.
